The State Government says Queensland is set to become the leading state for resource exploration with the help of a new report.
Natural Resources and Mines Minister Andrew Cripps said the Ministerial Advisory Committee on Exploration had made recommendations.
These included making more land available for exploration, delivering more world-class geoscience and expanding incentives to support greenfield exploration in Queensland.
Minister Cripps said the exploration sector has provided enormous value to the economy.
“It’s a very robust sector, not only for those people who are enaged in the early exploration work, the geologists, the drilling contractors, but the people who are involved in supporting their efforts, supplying equipment, supplying the types of resources that are required to undertake those projects,” he said.
