With a new brand of beans the price each cup of coffee has risen.

Small: $3.40 to $3.50

Regular: $3.90 to $4.10

Large: $4.60 to $4.90

Shop says customers aren’t complaining

“We were the cheapest coffee on the campus anyway so now we are probably matching the other cafes so I don’t think they can complain about that.”

Rising prices still a concern

Although the café maintains customers will not be affected, campus locals are not so happy.

Associate Professor of Journalism at QUT Lawrence Bowman says the cost is too high.

“The price of coffee these days is outrageous these days. I can’t see any justification for this,” he says.

Professor Bowman says the coffee is only worth the cost at the margin.

“It’s a good hit, otherwise it cannot be so,” he says.

“I need to carry on today.”
